Mold texturing

With the acquisition of the Brasmold company, which will later be integrated as a full-fledged brand within our company, we are now able to offer a wide range of texture patterns as well as equivalents for most industry standards. We can also create custom texture designs that will bring added value to your parts. The possibilities for texturing and finishing are virtually limitless, thanks to the chemical texturing process and laser texturing.

The finishing touch on your parts

Today, many molded thermoplastic parts are textured, either for ergonomic reasons or to make the part’s finish more aesthetic and attractive. Just think of the many textured parts found in the interior of a car. You will also find many different textures on visible surfaces. Whether it’s laser texturing or chemical etching, you have access to our laboratory service to obtain your textured sample plates in any desired material.

Chemical texturing

Chemical texturing is a process that has been used for decades. At Brasmold, this expertise has been accumulated over more than 30 years in acid texturing. This process uses acid to burn a relief or image into the metal mold. A transparent film with the printed pattern detail, or image, is used to transfer the pattern to the surface to be engraved. Openings in the pattern allow the acid to etch the unprotected metal by disintegration, creating an embossed design with perfect pattern reproduction.

Laser texturing

With the introduction of laser texturing technology in recent years, GLP has expanded its mold texturing offering. Laser mold texturing, also known as laser ablation machining, involves removing thin layers of material with a pulsed laser beam until the desired shape or texture is achieved. This technology enables greater precision and 100% repeatability, as well as greater design complexity.

The finishing touch – Brasmold quality

The quality of the textures we develop is our top priority, and we ensure top performance for every project we undertake. By training our team members, maintaining and improving our equipment and mold texturing processes, we are able to guarantee a precise finish that meets your expectations.
